Work From Home Healthcare Jobs – A Brief Guide

The first thing that pops into your mind when you think of work from home jobs as an employee in the healthcare industry would probably be, “Is that really possible?” Spoiler: they are! Well, we’re about to spill the beans on remote healthcare jobs, from the different types to the average salaries these opportunities offer. Here they are, according to The Work at Home Woman

 Therapist / Counselor

As a psychologist or therapist, you don’t always need to be in a hospital to help people with mental health problems. Patients may feel more secure in an environment other than a medical facility. It is common for psychologists to conduct evaluations of patients using talk therapy, which can occur anywhere, anytime through virtual sessions.

Academic Prerequisites:

The majority of therapists hold advanced degrees. They typically hold a Ph.D. in philosophy or a Psy.D. in psychology, depending on the programme of study, which must be accredited by the American Psychological Association.

What’s The Average Salary?

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the median annual salary for psychologists is $82,180, with a favourable growth outlook.

 Hiring Companies:

Remote Medical Scribe

It’s no secret that doctors are extremely busy, and they also take a ton of notes. That’s where Medical Scribes can come in handy. Medical Scribes take notes and document information from doctor-patient interactions, either in the office or remotely. It is necessary to transcribe and enter these notes into databases from a recorded visit when working from a distance.

Academic Pre-requisites

A high school diploma or GED and some medical education or healthcare experience are generally required for most Medical Scribe positions. Even though a degree isn’t really required, a certification may be beneficial.

What’s The Average Salary?

ZipRecruiter reports that the average salary for a Medical Scribe is $45,567 per year.

Hiring Companies:

Medical Coder

You can easily work from home as a medical biller and coder; you just need a working computer and the right software. Medical coders examine diagnosis records from doctors, nurses, and other health professionals and translate them into the code required to file insurance claims. A major reason for this career’s rapid growth is a current shortage of qualified coders.

Academic Pre-requisites

To work as a medical coder, you do not require a bachelor’s degree, but you will need to undergo some form of vocational training.

What’s The Average Salary?

Even though medical coding has the lowest compensation, it also has the lowest educational requirements. Medical billers and coders earn an average annual salary of $44,090, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and demand for their skills is likely to rise in the coming years due to an ageing population.
